Swistar Unveils the Slimmest Timepiece on the Planet
April 5, 2004 -- Just 3.6mm slim, Swistar has created yet another marvel in technology, innovation, and elegance. The new Swistar Slimtech line is the slimmest range of watches in the world. These "Limited Edition", finely crafted Swiss timepieces are to be unveiled at the JCK tradeshow in Phoenix, AZ and will only be available to consumers through select fine jewelers worldwide. Mr. Kunal Naik, CEO of Swistar Watches U.S.A., claims the watch to be a technological breakthrough and adds, "The watches have created quite a buzz throughout the watch industry and are sure to leave an enduring impression. Can you imagine buying such a monumental timepiece at such a competitive retail price between $495 and $595?"
Swistar watches previously made waves when they launched a line of high-tech Swiss made timepieces incorporating scratchproof materials such as tungsten carbide, ceramic, and sapphire crystals in their unique watch designs and released them with prices ranging from $255 - $695. At the time the prices for such watches were unheard of with other Swiss brands selling similar watches retailing from $2800 and up. Swistar watches have always been pioneers at the pinnacle of fashion, and have been revered for creating striking models and marketing them at very competitive prices.
The research and design departments of the Swistar Watch Company were faced with tremendous challenges in designing the world's slimmest watches. Given that most watches average between 6mm and 15mm in thickness it was a real test to design a watch that was a mere 3.6mm slim. Furthermore, most slim watches cannot sustain the water resistance and reliability of their thicker counterparts. Swistar has created a watch that is just 3.6mm slim and is still water resistant up to 30 meters, a feat not to be taken lightly when considering the intricacies involved in producing such a fine timepiece while still keeping production costs down so the watch can be affordable to the public.
Swistar designers had to reject any and all traditional standards in the watch industry and several years of harvesting unconventional philosophies have culminated into the limited edition Swistar Slimtech line, a timepiece so slim, there is no other like it on the planet. "The toughest challenge was not only keeping the watch slim, but the price tag slim as well. It's only once in a lifetime we receive a chance to see such a perfect coupling of technological phenomenon and genuine elegance, and I'm so proud to be a part of this," said Kunal Naik, CEO.
The Swistar Slimtech line currently is available with variations in the dials, colors, and bands including a solid stainless steel case and band, an 18K 3-micron gold electroplated case and band, and models available with genuine hypo-allergenic leather straps with invisible deployment clasps. Swiss certified solid gold and solid platinum models with diamond accents will also be unveiled shortly at the Las Vegas JCK tradeshow in June 2004.
Swistar Slimtech watches are a Swiss quality product manufactured to the highest standards under strict quality controls and are backed by the industry's best buckle-to-buckle warranty. The Swistar Slimtech Line is equipped with the highest quality Swiss quartz movements known for their precision, accuracy, and long life, and the materials used to create Swistar Slimtech watches are carefully selected so that they are biocompatible and skin friendly. The Swistar Slimtech watch articulates elegance and sophistication with a defined slimness that is unparalleled.
Swistar Watch Company started marketing their fine timepieces in U.S.A. in 1996 with preliminary sales only equaling a handful of watches every month. Today Swistar Watches U.S.A., based in Phoenix, AZ, sells thousands of watches to over 400 retailers and distributors throughout North and South America. The young and enterprising 25-year-old CEO, Kunal Naik who is an MBA graduate of the WP Carey School of Business, heads the marketing team. The launch of the Swistar Slimtech line follows on the heels of other successful campaigns by Swistar Watches U.S.A. including the successful launches of their full tungsten line and their ladies micro-size models. Swistar watches are available in over 400 of the finest jewelers across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and South America.
